CTOnews.com, January 11, according to local media Austin Business Journal, Apple plans to expand its existing Austin campus. The total amount of money involved in the expansion is expected to reach $240 million (about 1.627 billion yuan).

According to the report, Apple plans to build a four-story building at a cost of $120 million, according to construction documents submitted to Texas licensing and regulatory authorities on Jan. 6. The company resubmitted documents on January 9, planning to expand a five-story building at a cost of $240 million.

CTOnews.com learned in the Austin Business Journal report that the documents submitted by Apple are only preliminary intentions and do not necessarily represent the final investment plan.

Apple first announced plans for a northwest Austin campus near Parmer Lane in December 2018. At the same time, the region also plans to invest 2 billion US dollars in comprehensive development. The development, known as Pearson Ranch, will be located next to West Parmer Lane and National Highway 45.
