CTOnews.com, January 10, the installation rate of the iOS 16 system has been growing well since its release in September, but now it seems that the growth trend of the system has slowed sharply, especially throughout December.

Exactly 16 weeks after its launch, the adoption rate of iOS 16 finally reached 70 per cent on January 1, 2023, according to Mixpanel. The adoption rate of iOS 16 reached 66% in mid-November. In other words, it grew by only 4% for the whole of December.

CTOnews.com looked at Mixpanel's data and found that the number of iOS 16 installations surged in the first few weeks after the release, but this only brought the adoption rate to about 40 per cent of the total. In mid-November, shortly after the release of iOS 16.1.1, the second best part appeared, bringing the total adoption rate to about 66 per cent. Then it slowed down, and it took more than a month for the installation rate of iOS 16 to rise from 66 per cent to 70 per cent.

As you can see, the upgrade of iOS 16 is divided into three phases. One is the early upgraders, who want to update as soon as possible. Users of the second phase were more cautious and did not upgrade until multiple versions eliminated bug. Then there is the last group of about 40 per cent who don't seem to care much about the new iOS.

Some analysts say that one of the reasons why users are not excited about upgrading the new iOS system is that iOS is already a relatively mature operating system and has all the functions that most iPhone users really need. IOS 16 has brought some popular improvements, but no particularly significant changes, so many users do not feel the need to upgrade.

In addition, another reason why users do not upgrade the iOS system is Apple's fault. At present, there are many bug in iOS 16, and users are afraid that upgrading to the new system will affect the use of the phone.
