The car can turn 90 degrees on all four wheels and can perform special actions such as lateral driving and a 360-degree U-turn in place.

E-Corner integrates electric motors, electric shock absorbers, wire-controlled brakes and wire-controlled steering, making it a complete kit that can be installed on plug-in vehicles. The video shows that the special car can rotate all its wheels 90 degrees in the same direction, so that the car can complete any operation such as tank U-turn, crab, circle, oblique and so on.

It is reported that the e-Corner uses four hub motors, braking and electronically controlled steering and electronic dampers are integrated in each wheel unit, completely divorced from the traditional chassis design and no steering column. Each wheel can be accelerated, braking and steering independently, truly four-wheel random drive, the system can be adapted to a variety of vehicles from SUV to medium-sized compact cars.

Not long ago, looking up at the U8 also demonstrated the lateral driving function, but the working principle is different from the IONIC 5 prototype car, which is achieved by carrying McNum wheels.

Hyundai Mobis has not released any other details about its e-Corner module, but it has great potential to simplify the entire assembly process of electric vehicles and provide drivers with more maneuverability.
