Young's revelations are different from those recently given by analyst Jeff Pu, who believes Apple will launch an Apple Watch with a MicroLED display in 2024. The Young revelations are questionable because Apple has long launched a new Apple Watch with the new iPhone in the fall, and there is no sign that the company will change that in the next two years, even if it is launched in 2025.

One possibility, however, is that Apple will release the microLED Apple Watch in the fall of 2024 and ship it in the spring of 2025 after the panel technology is ready.

Young did not provide details on the size of the display, but previous reports from Pu showed a diagonal size of 2.1in, suggesting that the display could be used in future Apple Watch Ultra versions. Launched in September last year, the Apple Watch ultra has a 1.92-inch display, which is larger than the 1.77-inch display of Apple Watch 8. MicroLED is still an emerging technology, and display makers are trying to improve it, so it makes sense for such screens to first appear on Apple's higher-end and more expensive Apple Watch.

Apple is probably still in the early stages of developing a micro-microLED Apple Watch, so the schedule may change from time to time.
