According to CTOnews.com news on January 10, today, the Federation of passengers released an analysis of the national passenger car market in December 2022, followed by data on China's auto market for the whole of 2022. The data show that retail sales of narrow passenger cars nationwide reached 20.543 million units in 2022, an increase of 1.9 percent over the same period last year.

CTOnews.com noted that BYD topped the rankings with retail sales of 1.805 million vehicles, with a market share of 8.8 per cent, while FAW-Volkswagen ranked second with 1.779 million vehicles with a market share of 8.7 per cent.

Changan Automobile ranked third in Tuyuan Unsplash, with retail sales of narrow passenger cars of 1.274 million units, up 14.2 per cent year-on-year. SAIC-Volkswagen slipped to fourth place, selling 1.243 million vehicles for the year, down 14.7 per cent from a year earlier.

The top 10 sales are: BYD, FAW-Volkswagen, Changan Automobile, SAIC-Volkswagen, Geely Motor, SAIC GM, Guangzhou Automobile Toyota, Dongfeng Nissan, FAW Toyota, SAIC GM Wuling.

In the narrow passenger car retail sales ranking in December, BYD also ranked first with 224000 vehicles, while FAW-Volkswagen and Changan Automobile ranked second and third, respectively.

According to the analysis of the Federation of passengers, the consumer confidence of the low-and middle-income first-buyer groups hardest hit by the epidemic urgently needs to be boosted, consumer demand support is insufficient and needs to be released, and the policy still needs to be more skewed towards energy-efficient vehicles in fuel-fueled vehicles to find the best balance between economic effects and environmental protection requirements.
