Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Wu Yanzu in South China for the delivery of clues! CTOnews.com, January 10 (Xinhua)-- A game handheld called "Legion Play" was exposed by Lenovo in 2021. Evidence from Lenovo's website shows that the Lenovo Legion Play handset was originally planned to be launched on MWC 2021, but Lenovo eventually did not release the handset at the event, and there has been no news of the product since.
According to Liliputing, recently, some prototypes of Legion Play have been sold in the Chinese market (the specific sales channel is not mentioned, some netizens say it is Xianyu), and some netizens have bought and released trial videos.
Last week, YouTuber Taki Udon said he had already bought one of the prototypes, which he sold in China for about $160 (1085 yuan). At the same time, netizen TESTTRON also released two short videos showing the hardware, software and game trials of the handheld.
The video shows that the Legion Play prototype appears to have a 7-inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel display, support for HDR 10, stereo front speakers, 7000 Ma battery, and integrated handles on both sides. It seems to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor (in doubt, some netizens reported that it is Snapdragon 720amp 730), pre-installed Android 11 and weighs 436g.
It's not clear why Lenovo decided to cancel Legion Play. Maybe Legion Play isn't ready, or maybe the company doesn't think there's enough demand for Android-based handsets designed for cloud games. Legion Play dominates cloud games, but it runs Google's Android operating system and should also be able to run native Android games.
CTOnews.com learned that in the past year, both Thunder Snake and Logitech have launched handheld cloud games based on Android. Logitech G Cloud launched last fall for $300, while Razer Edge went on sale later this month for $399, and many lesser-known companies have launched some Android handsets.
