Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens OC_Formula and Wu Yanzu in South China for their clue delivery! CTOnews.com January 10, Micron Technology Co., Ltd. announced that the Micron 9400 NVMe solid state drive (SSD) is now in mass production and is immediately available through channel partners to meet the global OEM customers' demand for the highest storage performance of the server.
Meguiar 9400 SSD is designed to manage the most demanding data center workloads, particularly artificial intelligence (AI) training, machine learning (ML) and high-performance computing (HPC) applications, Meguiar said. The SSD has the highest 30.72TB storage capacity and has increased the number of read and write operations per second (IOPS) by 77%. Meguiar 9400 is also the fastest shipped PCIe 4.0 data center hard drive in the world, with consistent low latency performance for all capacity specifications.
Meguiar 9400 SSD has 30TB capacity, twice the maximum capacity of the company's previous-generation NVMe SSD. A standard dual-rack 24-disk server is equipped with 30.72TB 's Meguiar 9400 SSD with a total storage capacity of up to 737TB. The doubling of Micron's 9400 SSD capacity means companies can halve the number of servers while maintaining the same amount of data storage.
In terms of performance, Meguiar 9400 SSD achieves 1.6m IOPS at 100% 4K random read and write. In terms of mixed read and write workloads, Meguiar 9400 SSD performs as follows:
IOPS for 90% read and 10% write workload increased by 71% to more than 1 million IOPS
IOPS for 70% read and 30% write workloads increased by 69% to more than 940000 IOPS
In the test scenario, Meguiar 9400 SSD performs in terms of mixed workload performance as follows:
In the RocksDB test scenario, 9400 SSD improved performance by 23% and workload responsiveness by 34%.
In the Aerospike database (open source NoSQL database optimized for flash storage) test scenario, Meguiar 9400 SSD increased its peak performance by 2.1 times.
In the test scenario of NVIDIA Magnum IO GPUDirect storage (which supports GPU memory and direct memory access between storage data transfer paths), Meguiar 9400 SSD achieves 25% better performance than competitive products in computing task-intensive systems.
In the multi-tenant cloud architecture test scenario, the overall performance of Meguiar 9400 SSD is more than twice that of the performance competitor SSD, and the response time is 62% shorter than that of the competitor.
CTOnews.com learned that Meguiar 9400 SSD increased IOPS per watt by 77%, thereby reducing overall power consumption. The Meguiar 9400 SSD features 176layer TLC particles in a U.3 form factor and is backward compatible with the U.2 slot, offering capacity options from 6.4TB to 30.72TB.
