CTOnews.com, January 10, financial data show that Apple's MacBook contract manufacturer had revenue of 1.28 trillion New Taiwan dollars (about 284.16 billion yuan) in 2022, an increase of 13.47 percent year-on-year and a record high.

Specifically, Quanta's consolidated revenue in December 2022 was 106.329 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 23.605 billion yuan), down 5.1 percent from the previous month and 14.8 percent from the same period last year, and still stood firm for more than 100 billion New Taiwan dollars for seven consecutive months. Consolidated revenue in the fourth quarter of last year was 327.217 billion New Taiwan dollars (about 72.642 billion yuan), down 14.4 percent from the previous quarter and 3.4 percent from the same period last year.

CTOnews.com learned that Quanta said that 4.3 million notebook computers were shipped in December 2022, the same as in November, but down 36.76% from the same period last year; about 12.8 million notebook computers were shipped in the fourth quarter of last year, down 17.95% from the previous quarter and 35.68% from the same period last year, in line with expectations; 57.7 million notebook computers were shipped in 2022, down 23.37% from the same period last year.

Looking forward to the current quarter, Quanta said that the first quarter was a traditional off-season, coupled with fewer working days, and according to past practice, the average shipments in the first quarter decreased by double digits from the previous quarter. Due to the high base period in the first quarter of last year, notebook shipments are also expected to decrease in this quarter compared with the same period last year.

Looking forward to 2023, Quanta believes that the overall market conditions are still depressed, and overall notebook shipments this year are expected to decline compared with last year, but Quanta shipments are expected to be better than the industry average and will also be higher than the performance before the epidemic; servers, automotive electronics and other non-notebook products are expected to continue to grow.
