By continuously improving services, upgrading creator traffic and honorary incentives, the number of daily active creators and daily video uploads increased by more than 100% in 2022 compared with the same period last year.

It is said that video accounts will be more tightly controlled in 2022, while issuing original statements to further protect creators. Last year, the number of original content played on the platform increased by 350% compared with the same period last year.

Over the past year, more and more users have entered live rooms, with video viewing increasing by 300 per cent year-on-year, viewing hours by 156 per cent, opening hours by 83 per cent and quality broadcasting by 614 per cent, officials said.

In addition, the total usage time of Wechat Video account users is close to 80% of WeChat moments, the number of algorithm-based recommendations increased by 400% year on year, and the creator's activity increased by more than 100% year on year.

According to the official Wechat, in 2022, the volume of video pan-entertainment content increased by more than 185% year-on-year, that of daily life content increased by 291%, that of pan-knowledge content increased by 109% over the same period last year, and that of pan-news content increased by 237% year-on-year. The number of fan writers increased by 308% over the same period last year, and the number of popular style content increased by 186% compared with the same period last year.

The live broadcast team also said that as the ecology of the video number continues to improve, the commercial potential of live streaming continues to be released. In 2022, the scale of video live streaming has maintained rapid growth, sales have increased by more than 8 times compared with the same period last year, the conversion rate of purchase in the public domain of the platform has increased by more than 100%, and the unit price of customers has exceeded 200 yuan.

CTOnews.com has reported that Wechat has previously confirmed that it will introduce short videos, video numbers, live streaming, Sou, Mini Game, Wechat AI, Mini Program IoT and other content on this year's Wechat Open course PRO. It is not clear whether Zhang Xiaolong will attend or not.
