Zhi Xing's first car will be an ultra-high-end SUV with a price of 1 million yuan, which is expected to be released in 2025 and go on sale in overseas markets.

Li Bin, founder and chairman of Weilai Automobile, said internally that incubating the project was "a strategic layout in market segments", the report said.

According to the report, Zhi Xing locates a high-end intelligent electric car brand, focusing on the adventure and off-road market. Zhi Xing will conduct special research and development under the authorization of Weilai's technology platform, based on the Weilai NT 3.0 platform, while supporting 800V ultra-fast charging and recharging modes. The first new car will adopt Weilai NT 3.0platform and cooperate deeply with Ulay in terms of technology platform, supply chain, charging system and so on.

NT 3.0 is the third generation digital platform of Wei Lai, including electrical and electronic architecture, electronic control, intelligent cockpit and intelligent driving technology, etc., which is still under development and is expected to launch related models in 2024.

CTOnews.com learned that this is not the first time that Weilai will deploy million-yuan electric vehicles. In December last year, it was reported that Weilai launched an attack on million-class luxury cars, and the first model was marked "Maybach S-Class". This news has also been confirmed by insiders. If research and development goes well, the model will be launched and sold globally as early as 2024.

Weilai had previously said it would launch a Volkswagen brand, followed by news that the Volkswagen brand would be named Alps, focusing on the middle and high end of the market, with models priced between 150000 yuan and 300000 yuan, with plans to be completed and put into production in 2024. In addition to this position, it is also reported that Weilai is building a third brand "Firefly", but this brand is positioned in the middle and low end of the market, targeting the European market of less than 100000-200000 yuan.
