The report summarizes the development of 5G users, networks, traffic, terminals, mobile networking terminals and App applications around the world.

First of all, look at the development with the data. at present, the number of global mobile users has reached 8.51 billion and the penetration rate has reached 106.5%. The number of 5G users worldwide has reached 1.03 billion, with a penetration rate of 12.89%, of which Asian users account for more than 70%. The number of mobile users in China has reached 1.68 billion, and the number of 5G mobile users in China has exceeded 542 million, with a penetration rate of 32.2%.

From the perspective of network development, the speed of global 5G network construction is accelerating. As of November 2022, 237 operators in 90 countries and regions around the world have claimed to provide 5G services. The construction of 5G network in China is relatively fast. by the end of November, 2.28 million 5G base stations have been opened in China, and the urban areas of all prefecture-level cities have achieved coverage.

In terms of the amount of traffic used, it has been affected by the epidemic in the past three years, although it is growing, but the growth rate is declining. In 2022, the cumulative growth rate of mobile Internet traffic in China has dropped to about 20%. From January to November 2022, the cumulative traffic of mobile Internet in China reached 238.2 billion GB, an increase of 18.6% over the same period last year. At the same time, the average monthly mobile user traffic (DOU) continues to grow. The average monthly traffic of mobile Internet users in China maintained a growth trend in 2022, with DOU reaching 16.58GB in November, an increase of 18.3% over the same period last year. The share of global average monthly user traffic in 2022 is 15GB, which is basically consistent with the global average in China.

CTOnews.com learned that in terms of terminals, the global mobile phone market is in the doldrums, and China's mobile phone market has basically completed the transition to 5G. Global smartphone shipments are estimated at 12.494 billion units in 2022, down 6.7% from the same period last year. With the repetition of the epidemic and the increasing downward pressure on the economy, the global consumer electronics market has entered a downturn, and the global smartphone market has fallen sharply again after a brief recovery in 2021. China's mobile phone shipments in 2022 are expected to be 286 million units, a decrease of 18.4% compared with last year, of which 5G mobile phone shipments are expected to reach 229 million units, accounting for 80%. China's mobile phone market has basically completed the transition to 5G.
