It is worth noting that this year's NPI of the new iPhone is a little different from that of previous years, mainly because the gap in mass production time between Chinese mainland and India will be narrowed. In previous years, the gap between mass production time between the two places was about six to nine months. Last year, it was shortened to two months, and this year it will be further shortened to a few weeks.

▲ Tuyuan Taiwan Economic Daily reported that as India is also planning to produce new iPhone 15 / Pro series phones, only Hon Hai has the ability to produce high-end iPhone in India. As the manufacturing schedule of the new aircraft in India is shorter than that of previous years, highlighting the new iPhone contract manufacturing this year, Hon Hai still maintains a dominant position.

Hon Hai has never commented on the dynamics of single customers and orders. People in the supply chain said that this year's new high-end iPhone 15 model, which may be called iPhone 15 Pro Max or iPhone 15 Ultra, has not yet been finalized, so it is currently named after the high-end iPhone 15.

CTOnews.com learned that NPI is the most important preparation for Apple's mass production of a new machine. In the first quarter of each year, Apple usually sends trial orders for new products to the contract factory, that is, it introduces its plans for this year's new products to the contract factory, and then the contract factory prepares a bill of materials (BOM), sets up appropriate production and testing machines, and must establish a quality monitoring process.

After the start of trial production, the contract factory collects data, corrects anomalies, evaluates the production process and items that need to be improved, and evaluates whether the trial products are acceptable. When the items that need to be improved are verified, mass production can be carried out later, that is to say, NPI enters the early stage of mass production.

As for the contract factory that gets NPI, it is the first supplier of iPhone, while those who do not get NPI are secondary suppliers. The gap between the two orders will be very large. At the same time, getting the NPI is tantamount to working with Apple to design a new iPhone, laying the foundation for mass production. Hon Hai has won the NPI of the year since the advent of the Apple iPhone, and this year is no exception.

The legal person said that the iPhone still accounts for more than 50% of Hon Hai's revenue and is the most important product. Hon Hai has firmly become Apple's largest supplier and is reassured by this year's performance growth. At the same time, the electric vehicle business began to contribute to Hon Hai's revenue in December last year, and the future revenue and profits of electric vehicles will continue to expand, leading Hon Hai to the direction of transformation and upgrading.

According to previous revelations, Apple's iPhone 15 / Pro series will all use Smart Island, switch to USB-C interface, and Pro will monopolize A17 chips and titanium frames.
