CTOnews.com, January 9, Bloomberg Mark Goolman said that compared with the current M1 Pro and M1 Max, Apple's upcoming M2 Pro and M2 Max chips have a "very small" performance improvement (marginal). That means the performance improvement of this year's new 14-inch / 16-inch MacBook Pro is very small.

CTOnews.com learned that Gurman used the English word "marginal" in Power On communications. Compared to the familiar "small", the former means "very small in amount or effect" in the Cambridge dictionary, and even the word has a "edge" meaning. It can be seen that Gurman is very dissatisfied with the performance improvement of M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.

"this year's 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will use exactly the same design and features as current models, including M2 Pro and M2 Max chips," Gurman wrote in the newsletter.

Gurman has previously reported that the M2 Max chip will have 12 CPU cores, consisting of 8 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, as well as 38 graphics cores.
