Beijing, January 9 (Xinhua) according to data released by Jack Sweeney, the tracker of Elon Musk's private jet, Musk's private jet made a total of 134 flights in 2022, with the shortest one being only six minutes.

▲ Musk's flight data revealed that Sweeney, an American college student, has been tracking Musk's private jet since 2020 and has run a Twitter account @ ElonJet for this purpose. Musk's private jet is the Gulfstream G650ER and the call signal is N628TS. However, the data compiled by Sweeney could not indicate whether Musk was on the plane.

Data show that Musk is likely to take his private jet to Qatar in December last year to watch the World Cup final. The plane also visited Brazil, France, Italy, Greece, Norway, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Its longest flight was from Mykonos Island in Greece to Austin, Texas, on July 18 last year. Musk was probably on the plane because he was photographed in Greece two days ago. The shortest flight of the jet lasted about six minutes. Data show that it stayed at long Beach Airport at that time, and the move may have been the pilot's repositioning of the plane.

▲ Gulfstream G650ER according to statistics, these 134flights produced 1895 tons of carbon dioxide, and the operating cost, including fuel costs, is just over $1.1 million (currently about 7.535 million yuan). Musk's most popular private jet destinations include Los Angeles, Austin, Texas and Brownsville.

Sweeney uses robots to capture and publish public flight data, which can also be found on the aircraft tracking website ADS-B Exchange. He said in an interview that he would close the tracking account if Musk paid $50, 000 as he asked. He said it was a small sum compared with the estimated $2.6 million a year to operate the jet, and "an extra $50,000 for privacy is nothing".

In December, Musk threatened to sue Sweeney after he released his real-time location, putting his two-year-old son at risk. Sweeney's @ ElonJet account was permanently blocked after Twitter changed its cyber manhunt policy, but he created another account called @ ElonJetNext and delayed posting the same data 24 hours later.

Mr Musk has not commented.
