Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, January 8, according to China Business report, Lin Baojun, chief designer of Beidou 3 satellite system and vice president of the Institute of Micro Satellite Innovation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, talked about the road of research and development of Beidou and the innovation of scientists in a speech at the New year Forum of the School of Management of Fudan University in 2023.

Lin Baojun said that the overall core index of China's Beidou navigation system has exceeded GPS. At the same time, he encouraged Chinese scientists to build self-confidence and not always feel that they could not surpass others.

China Beidou has been widely used in various fields of economic and social development, such as transportation, energy, agriculture, communications, meteorology, natural resources, ecological environment, emergency and disaster reduction and other key industries. A number of third-party organizations predict that according to the current growth rate of the output value of Beidou system, its industrial scale is expected to reach trillions of yuan in 2025. Data from Amap also show that as of November 2022, Amap has called Beidou satellite more than 210 billion times a day, and the deployment rate of Beidou has exceeded that of other satellite navigation systems such as GPS.

In Lin Baojun's view, technological innovation is important, but idea innovation and concept innovation are more important. He broke the tradition of "no more than 30% new technology" in the aerospace field and dared to use brand-new technology.

CTOnews.com learned that in the late 20th century, China began to explore the development path of satellite navigation system suited to its national conditions, and gradually formed a three-step development strategy: the Beidou-1 system was completed by the end of 2000 to provide services to China; by the end of 2012, the Beidou-2 system was completed to provide services to the Asia-Pacific region; and by 2020, the Beidou-3 system was completed to provide services to the world.

Since providing services, Beidou system has been widely used in the fields of transportation, agriculture, forestry and fishery, hydrological monitoring, meteorological observation and forecasting, communication and timing, electric power dispatching, disaster relief and disaster reduction, public safety and other fields, serving the country's important infrastructure and producing remarkable economic and social benefits. The navigation service based on Beidou system has been adopted by e-commerce, mobile intelligent terminal manufacturing, location service and other manufacturers, and has widely entered the fields of mass consumption, sharing economy and people's livelihood in China. New models, new business type and new economy are constantly emerging, profoundly changing people's way of production and life. China will continue to promote the development of Beidou application and industrialization, serve the country's modernization drive and the daily life of the people, and contribute to global scientific and technological, economic and social development.

Looking forward to the future, the integration and application of communication technology and accurate space-time technology based on "5G + Beidou" will be an indispensable important infrastructure for the informationization and intelligent upgrading of infrastructure in many fields such as agriculture and urban transportation. In his speech, Lin Baojun said that China's Beidou is moving towards a "more ubiquitous, integrated and intelligent" next-generation integrated space-time system, with problems such as deep space navigation, indoor navigation and underwater navigation to be solved by 2035.
