Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, January 8 (Xinhua)-- in November last year, British three-defense mobile phone company Bullitt announced a partnership with MediaTek to launch mobile phones that support two-way satellite communications in the first quarter of this year.

On CES 2023, Bullitt announced the official launch of its two-way satellite messaging service, Bullitt Satellite Connect, which will be available for commercial use in the first quarter of 2023.

Motorola Mobility and Bullitt, owned by Lenovo, have confirmed that the next phone in the Diana Defy series will be the first smartphone to support Bullitt satellite information services. The two companies have previously established a strategic brand partnership and have launched three-proof mobile phones such as the Defy 2021.

▲ Defy 2021Bullitt has developed proprietary software and service components to provide satellite SMS services through OTT applications (Bullitt Satellite Messenger). The service is the result of a two-year partnership with technology partners in the field of NTN (non-terrestrial network) communications, including MediaTek, FocusPoint International and Bullitt satellite Skylo connection partners. Skylo will establish and operate a network to provide "always online" Bullitt satellite messaging services.

CTOnews.com learned that in terms of pricing, the cost of Bullitt Satellite Connect satellite messages will be deducted from the plans of subscribers of satellite messages, and recipients do not have to pay any fees. SOS aid services are available free of charge in the first year, and subsequent subscription plans start at $4.99 a month (currently about 34 yuan).
