CTOnews.com, January 8, the KDE development team was very busy in the first week of 2023 and was preparing to release the KDE Plasma version 5.27 update. KDE developer Nate Graham tweeted and shared the work report of the first week of 2023.

CTOnews.com learned that highlights of KDE's New year's development work this week include:

KolourPaint now allows saving images in AVIF / HEIF / HEIC image format, and supports adjusting the quality level.

The Elisa music player now includes some popular radio stations by default.

The KDE system setup Shortcut Keys page now has a more obvious and useful UI to add custom commands.

After pasting links into the note widget, they are now pasted as clickable links by default.

In Plasma 5.27, a single window can now be moved to another activity using the context menu of the title bar.

When operating in touch mode, the global edit mode toolbar can now also open the full menu.

For very small screens, the Kickoff initiator now switches to a more compact layout.

Fixed an issue that allowed manual night color activation beyond 19:00

There are various other repairs and improvements.
