CTOnews.com, January 8 (Xinhua)-- Roland, a well-known musical instrument manufacturer, showed a concept piano at the CES 2023 exhibition to celebrate the company's 50th anniversary. The bold and avant-garde piano is made by the company in partnership with Japanese furniture manufacturer Karimoku.

Its exterior is an integrated molding made of Nara oak in Japan, hiding a 360-degree 14-speaker system. Roland also turned the speakers into drones that hovered above the piano and could be controlled by the player. Unfortunately, these drones couldn't fly at the CES show, so Roland hung a pair of drones from a wire.

These drones have low-latency audio connectivity and work with PureAcoustic Ambience technology to create flexible and natural reverberations that more accurately mimic what you hear in concert halls.

CTOnews.com learned that Roland's 50th Anniversary concept Piano is not for sale. This is an advanced concept creation. Maybe some of its functions will eventually be reflected in future musical instruments, but now it is indeed unique.
