Apple's current job listings in India show more than 100 positions, including business experts, maintenance personnel, operations experts and technical experts.

A list of retail jobs released on Saturday shows that these jobs require working in multiple locations, including Mumbai and New Delhi. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant has long planned to set up brick-and-mortar retail stores in India, one of the world's fastest-growing smartphone markets. While the company will start selling online in 2020, it has yet to open an offline Apple Store.

CTOnews.com understands that Apple Store was originally scheduled to open in 2021, but the global epidemic and economic uncertainty forced Apple to postpone the opening. Earlier reports said the company aims to launch in the January-March 2023 range. The Apple Store in Mumbai will occupy 22000 square feet and will be a "landmark" retail store known for its iconic design.

Apple also plans to open a second, smaller Apple Store in New Delhi, measuring 10,000 - 12,000 square feet. In addition to these two stores, Apple will also look for other possible locations in shopping malls and high-end shopping areas across India, with the aim of making Apple Store retail one of its important businesses.
