Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula and independent photographer for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com, January 8, Sony announced the launch of a project called STAR SPHERE, which allows users to rent satellite cameras in space and take pictures of the earth freely.

Sony said it was the world's first project to connect users to space through a satellite experience, allowing users to take their own space photos and videos using exclusive photography, including an unprecedented perspective.

Sony will launch a satellite called Nano Satellite, which will orbit the earth about 15-16 times a day at an altitude of 500-600km.

The satellite will carry a Sony full-frame camera that supports up to 1ax 250, F4.0 and ISO 800. with a 28-135mm F4.0 lens, users can remotely adjust settings such as sensitivity, aperture and shutter speed, which is as simple as adjusting a camera.

CTOnews.com learned that the project will launch two services, namely:

Space photography trip: users can experience the recommended satellite orbit in the form of "sightseeing" and take their own exclusive space photos through a simulator, not a calling satellite.

Advanced camera / photography experience: users can get about 90 minutes of orbital time and take space photos and videos as they see fit. Parameters such as shooting date, subject and photographic work are determined by the user.

Note that although the advanced camera / photography experience lasts 90 minutes, the user can only operate for about 10 minutes. Which 10 minutes to use for shooting during these 90 minutes depends on the user. After 10 minutes of shooting, you can download 50 default photos or 30 seconds of video, or you can download more content at a higher price, the exact price of which has not been determined.

Sony said the space shooting service would be launched in 2023 or later, with the first batch available only in Japan and the United States.
