CTOnews.com, January 7 (Xinhua)-- the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently revised new rules that no longer allow automatic window closing through car interiors, apps or other functions. Tesla owners have shared screenshots on social media and forums, showing that the automatic window closing function is no longer available.

Twitter users and Tesla owner @ Tommyf902 contacted Tesla Service Center for more information about the problem. Tesla service responded: "due to recent federal regulations, some automatic window closing functions cannot be used, please wait for further changes."

CTOnews.com learned that Tesla said in his official reply that the following Tesla Service window functions will no longer be available:

Use a physical switch to roll up / down the window outside the brake pedal of the stampede

Lift the window through Tesla mobile application

Automatically close the window after the vehicle is locked

Automatically close the window when the vehicle is in a state of car washing.

Although Tesla Service did not specifically mention it, it may also limit the lifting of windows during Tesla's Light Show function. NHTSA's updated safety guidelines are not limited to windows, but also apply to roof systems and partitions.
