Microsoft has stopped supporting Microsoft Edge browsers for Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 / R2 and Windows Server 2012 / R2 since January 2023. As a result, Microsoft Edge 109, which will be deployed next week, will be the last version of Edge to run on all these Windows systems, but will no longer receive security patches. It is particularly unpleasant for Windows Server 2012 R2 users as the platform will continue to receive security updates until October 2023.

The premise is that the Edge browser on the system has been updated to version 109 and the 0patch agent is running on the system. Whenever key vulnerabilities are found in Edge, 0patch will develop micro-patches to close them and deploy them through proxies. Edge security patches are part of professional and enterprise licenses. As a result, those who have already used 0patch on their systems will automatically receive Edge micro-patches at no extra cost for these licenses.
