The number of patents of other Chinese companies is growing rapidly. Tencent ranked 53rd, with 789 US patents in 2022, up 24 per cent from the same period last year. Baidu ranked 73rd with 618 patents, up 43 per cent from the same period last year; Xiaomi ranked 87th with 503 patents, up 33 per cent from the same period last year; Alibaba ranked 103rd with 418 patents, up 37 per cent from the same period last year; byte jump ranked 269th with 160th patents, up 84 per cent from the same period last year.

"Patent applications in China have exploded over the years," said Rocky Berndsen, head of patent analysis at Harrity. "so as more and more of these companies do business in the US, we expect the number of patents in China to increase."
