CTOnews.com January 7, Apple quietly used artificial intelligence and speech synthesis technology to develop an AI robot to read some books. In Apple's Books, a search for the key word "AI narration" shows a number of audiobooks described as "digital voice readings that mimic the human tone".

Apple's reading through AI could represent a major shift in how major technology companies view the future of audiobooks. Publishers, writers and literary agents who spoke to the Guardian said the strategy, if successful, could have a significant impact on the market.

CTOnews.com learned that in recent years, the audiobook market is booming, and technology companies are scrambling to gain a foothold. Sales surged 25% last year, with revenues exceeding $1.5 billion. Industry insiders believe that by 2030, the global market value may exceed 35 billion US dollars.
