Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, January 7, although Tuesday patch updates are designed to provide security patches for Windows, they often cause major problems. Windows 11 and Windows 10 and Windows Server's November "Tuesday patch" caused problems with the application due to ODBC SQL Server driver error Bug.

Microsoft said that affected users will receive application errors or errors from SQL Server, such as "EMS system encountered a problem" and "message: protocol error in [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] TDS Stream" or "message: unknown token received from SQL Server by [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server driver].

Now, Microsoft has finally released a solution to the problem at the end of the holiday.

CTOnews.com learned that to alleviate this problem, you can do one of the following:

If your application is already in use or can use the data source name (DSN) to select an ODBC connection, please install Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server and select it for use with applications that use DSN. Note: the latest version of Microsoft ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server is recommended because it is more compatible with applications that currently use older Microsoft ODBC SQL Server drivers (sqlsrv32.dll) than Microsoft ODBC Driver 18 for SQL Server.

If your application cannot use DSN, you need to modify the application to allow DSN or use a newer ODBC driver than the Microsoft ODBC SQL Server driver (sqlsrv32.dll).

Microsoft said it was working to solve the problem.
