According to foreign media reports on January 6, Daimler's Mercedes-Benz will build a global charging network covering North America, China, Europe and other major markets. to support its goal of achieving full electrification in markets where conditions permit by 2030.

Mercedes-Benz announced that it would start construction of charging stations in North America. The company said that by 2027, it would have 400 high-power charging stations in the United States, including 2500 chargers, most of which will be located near major roads and retail centers in city centers and major cities.

Although the charging network is not yet named, it will be the first visible result of a partnership between Mercedes-Benz, energy maker MN8 energy and electric vehicle charging network company ChargePoint. The charging network will be open to all electric vehicles to encourage the rapid spread of electric vehicles.

So far, Mercedes-Benz has relied mainly on third-party charging networks. Therefore, building a new charging network is a bold move of the company.

Foreign media said that with the electric vehicle charging infrastructure, the company can not only obtain new sources of revenue in the emerging electric vehicle charging market, but also provide automobile customers with the best charging experience.

At present, Mercedes-Benz is accelerating its "electric first" strategy. In July 2021, the company said it would achieve full electrification in markets where conditions permit by 2030. The company unveiled measures to accelerate the transition to all-electric vehicles, including plans to build battery factories. (little fox)
