Samsung CES 2023 outlines the vision, and a key element of its plan is to introduce SmartThings technology into thousands of other devices developed by OEM.

Samsung announced on CES that more than 300 companies will soon adopt SmartThings technology. About 3000 different types of smart home devices, including air conditioners, smart door locks and lights, household appliances, automatic blinds, etc., will support the SmartThings platform.

These thousands of devices will be compatible with SmartThings applications, enabling unprecedented freedom of brand choice. This is part of Samsung DX's vision of creating a rich device ecosystem and powerful services for its customers. The company believes that this is one of the best measures to deal with depressed sales in the current economic environment.

Samsung's DX division was established in December 2021 to unify different departments such as TVs, smartphones and home appliances into an entity to develop barrier-free, connected experiences.

CTOnews.com learned that the SmartThings Station announced by Samsung on CES 2023 could become the core of the smart home. It is a wireless charger and SmartThings Hub device that can analyze user behavior and adjust smart home devices accordingly. The expanded cooperation with hundreds of smart home OEM (original equipment manufacturers) will enrich the functions of Station.
