CTOnews.com, January 6, TCL announced three new cheap smartphones and a tablet on CES 2023.

TCL 40 SE

The best equipped phone in the new series is the TCL 40 SE. Equipped with a 6.75in LCD screen with HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate, and a front 8MP selfie camera. The phone is also equipped with stereo speakers.

CTOnews.com learned that the TCL 40 SE phone carries MediaTek Helio G37 chip, has 4GB / 6GB memory and 128GB / 256GB storage, and can be further expanded through microSD slots. Rear 50MP main camera, 2MP macro camera and depth of field sensor. The phone is pre-installed with a TCL UI 5.0system based on Android 13, with a battery capacity of 5010 mAh and a charging speed of 18W.

The TCL 40 SE, available in gray and purple, will debut in Europe later in the first quarter and will sell for about $169, or about 1163 yuan.

TCL 408

The TCL 408 is a slightly cheaper alternative to 40 SE, priced at $129. Equipped with a 6.6inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. Rear 50MP main camera and 2MP depth of field camera. Front 8MP selfie camera.

The TCL 408 is equipped with MediaTek Helio P22 chip, 4GB / 6GB memory and 128GB / 256GB storage. The phone is pre-installed with Android 12, has a battery capacity of 5000 mAh and supports a 10W charging speed.

The TCL 408, available in gray and blue, costs $129 and will soon be launched in Europe and Asia.

TCL 403

The TCL 403 is also a low-budget device with a 6-inch TFT IPS screen with a resolution of 480 x 960 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. This phone has a front 5MP selfie camera and a rear 8MP main camera. Equipped with MediaTek Helio A22 chip, 2GB memory and 32GB scalable storage.

The phone is pre-installed with Android 12 (Go version) and comes with a 3000 mAh battery that can be recharged through microUSB.

The TCL 403 is available in black and foggy purple. Pricing and availability details are not provided.

TCL NxtPaper 12 Pro

In addition, TCL released the TCL NxtPaper 12 Pro tablet with a 12.2-inch screen with a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels and an aspect ratio of 3:2. Using MediaTek Kompanio 800T chip and 8GB+256GB storage, it can be expanded through microSD slot. Front 8MP camera, rear 13MP camera and LED flash.

The TCL tablet supports E-Pen stylus with 8192 pressure levels. The software is equipped with an Android 12 system with a battery capacity of 8000 mAh and recharged through USB-C. TCL also offers optional keyboard accessories that are magnetically connected to the tablet through a spring pin.

The TCL NxtPaper 12 Pro Wi-Fi version costs $499 (about 3433 yuan) in the United States, while the 5G model will go on sale later this year for $549 (3777 yuan).
