CTOnews.com, January 6, local time on January 4, Howie unveiled a new 1.3 megapixel OX01E20 system-on-a-chip (SoC) for automotive SVS and rearview cameras (RVC) at CES 2023.

According to Howell, OX01E20 brings high-performance LED flicker suppression (LFM) and 140db high dynamic range (HDR) functions. In addition, the OX01E20 is pin-compatible with the previous generation 1.3 megapixel car SoC pin-pair and can be quickly upgraded to higher performance.

According to reports, in a single 1amp 4-inch optical format package, OX01E20 is equipped with a 3 micron image sensor, advanced image signal processor (ISP) and full-function distortion correction / perspective correction (DC / PC) and on-screen display (OSD), so that designers can achieve small size, low light performance, low power consumption and low cost at the same time, while OX01E20 can only use a single PCB board, which is conducive to improving the reliability of the camera module.

CTOnews.com has learned that Howie claims that OX01E20 complies with ASIL-B safety standards and is now ready for mass production in June 2023. The key features are as follows:

Good HDR and LFM performance in the whole temperature range of the vehicle

Advanced ISP, including DC / PC and OSD

Small size solution can be realized by using a-CSP technology.

Low power consumption

Based on the PureCel Plus architecture of Howie Group, this architecture has good low light sensitivity and can provide high signal-to-noise ratio.
