According to Tianfeng International analyst Guo Mingyi, JD.com 's shipments of iPhone displays are growing rapidly in 2023 and may beat Samsung and LG Display to become the largest supplier of new iPhone displays as soon as 2024.

According to Guo Mingyi's latest survey, BOE has beat Samsung to win most of the orders for the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus screens in the second half of this year. If development and production go well in the coming months, BOE will be the largest supplier of iPhone 15 and 15 Plus screens, accounting for about 70 per cent of the supply (Samsung accounts for about 30 per cent).

CTOnews.com learned that Guo Mingyi said BOE only got an order for a 6.1in iPhone 14 display screen in the iPhone 14 series, and the supply proportion was the lowest. Therefore, iPhone display shipments will increase significantly in the second half of this year compared with the same period last year.

Other information disclosed by Guo Mingyi is as follows:

BOE accounted for only about 12-15% of iPhone display shipments in 2022, so even if iPhone shipments were negatively affected by the economic recession in 2023, JD.com could easily achieve a high YoY (year-on-year) growth of 70-100% YoY (year-on-year) in 2023 due to the low base period of iPhone display shipments in 2022, significantly better than most Apple suppliers.

BOE expects to ship a large number of LTPO displays for high-end iPhone in 2024 (Samsung and LG Display are also suppliers). If BOE can secure about 20-30 per cent of orders for high-end iPhone LTPO displays in the second half of 2024 and maintain about 70 per cent of shipments of low-end 2H24 iPhone displays, it has a chance to become the largest supplier of new iPhone displays in the second half of 2024.

BOE's key profit growth momentum over the next 2-3 years will come from other new apps, including Apple's medium-and large-sized OLED, Apple's medium-to-large mini-LED and lower-priced Android folding screens.
