CTOnews.com, January 6 (Xinhua)-- Chinese mainland sales in December reached 16900, up 15.6 percent from a year earlier, according to Volvo auto data. Total annual sales reached 162000, with pure electric models ushering in a breakthrough, with full-year sales up 201 percent from a year earlier.

Of these, Volvo XC60 sold 64138 vehicles for the year and sold 6853 in December, up 22% from a year earlier.

Volvo says 2022 is also a key year for its overall electrification transformation in China. Before the new electrified products are fully introduced into the market, Volvo is actively exploring a new business model to comprehensively build services and experiences in the electrified era.

In terms of new energy vehicles, Volvo launched its new pure electric flagship SUV-- Volvo EX90 at the end of 2022. Volvo EX90 is equipped with a DUS driver perception system with lidar and dual cameras in the car.

CTOnews.com has learned that Volvo will launch four new all-electric models in 2023, laying out three new market segments. Among them, Volvo EX90, which will soon make its global debut, will also meet with Chinese consumers for the first time.
