Based on L bayonet, the LUMIX S series three lenses include LUMIX S 14-28mm F4-5.6 MACRO (S-R1428), LUMIX S 20-60mm F3.5-5.6 MACRO O.I.S (S-R2060) and LUMIX S 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 MACRO O.I.S (S-R70300), covering 14mm ultra wide angle to 300mm telephoto. Both support high optical performance and take into account mobility, suitable for LUMIX S5 series cameras to take photos and videos.

The LUMIX S 14-28mm F4-5.6MACRO consists of 10 groups of 14 lenses, including one aspherical ED (low dispersion) lens, one aspherical lens, three ED (low dispersion) lenses, and one UHR (high refractive index) lens. Although the LUMIX S 14-28mm F4-5.6MACRO has a compact size and a light weight of about 345g, it has a macro shooting capability of 0.25x (14mm)-0.5x (28mm). And within the zoom range, the nearest focus distance of 0.15 meters can be used, which is suitable for shooting in a variety of situations, can be used to shoot close-ups with beautiful virtual effect, but also can shoot scenery with wide angle.

The LUMIX S 14-28mm F4-5.6MACRO can run smoothly and quietly and works with the camera's high-speed, high-precision autofocus system. The lens driving speed is up to 240fps. With the nonlinear focus setting, the focus moves at an unconstant distance based on the rotation speed of the focus ring, while with the linear focus setting, the focus moves at a constant amount according to the unit angle of the rotation of the focus ring. Sensitivity (focus shift per rotation angle) can be selected from 90 to 360 degrees to achieve the desired focus operation (the maximum focus distance varies depending on the camera model, up to 1080 degrees on the S5II, S5IIX and BS1H (as of January 2023).

LUMIX S 14-28mm F4-5.6MACRO in terms of video recording performance, its lens group design can restrain the breathing effect in focus as much as possible, which is a serious defect in the lens designed for flat photography. Coupled with the microstep aperture control function to help smooth exposure changes, it can help photographers record more professional quality video.

With reliable dustproof and splash-proof design, it can be used normally even in the harsh conditions of minus 10 degrees Celsius, and has good mobility. There is a fluorine coating on the outermost lens to ensure waterproof / oil resistance. ND / PL filters with a diameter of 77mm can be installed.
