CTOnews.com, January 4, China Railway Group data show that by the end of 2022, the mileage of railways in operation across the country has reached 155000 km, including 42000 km of high-speed rail.

In 2022, the country's railways completed an investment of 710.9 billion yuan in fixed assets and put into production 4100 kilometers of new lines, including 2082 kilometers of high-speed railways, successfully completing the annual railway construction task.

The National Railway Group said that the situation of the Sichuan-Tibet Railway has been further developed and consolidated, and the railway projects in the 102 major projects identified in the 14th five-year Plan of the people's Republic of China for National Economic and Social Development and the outline of long-term objectives for 2035 have been carried out smoothly. Construction of 26 projects, including the section from Xiongan New area to Shangqiu of Jingxiong High-speed Railway, Tianjin to Weifang High-speed Railway, Ruijin to Meizhou Railway, etc., and 29 railway projects, including the Hetian-Ruoqiang Railway, the Huohang Section of the Hezhou-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, and the Zhongwei-Lanzhou section of the Yinchuan-Lanzhou High-speed Railway, were completed and put into operation.

CTOnews.com learned that the working meeting of the China Railway Group was held in Beijing yesterday in the form of a teleconference. The meeting pointed out that the main objectives of railway work in 2023 include the comprehensive completion of national railway investment tasks, the high-quality promotion of key national projects such as the Sichuan-Tibet Railway, and the commissioning of more than 3000 km of new lines, including 2500 km of high-speed railway.
