Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--

CTOnews.com, January 4, according to the latest DIGITIMES report, most countries in the world are still suffering from Qualcomm inflation in the second half of 2022. The rise in interest rates in the United States makes the US dollar appreciate and reduces the purchasing power of consumers outside the United States. In addition, the overall global economic outlook and economic confidence continue to decline, and consumers' willingness to buy new machines continues to decline. Research statistics and estimates show that smartphone shipments in the third and fourth quarters of 2022 were 277 million and 311 million units, both showing a double-digit annual decline. Compared with October's forecast, DIGITIMES lowered its forecast for global smartphone shipments in 2022 and 2023 to 1.165 billion and 1.191 billion units, a decrease of about 11 million and 12 million units.

In the domestic smartphone market, compared with the September forecast, the DIGITIMES report downgraded shipments to 58.4 million and 61.7 million units in the third and fourth quarters of 2022, an annual decrease of 20.5% and 24.3%.

CTOnews.com learned that in terms of global 5G mobile phone shipments, compared with the expected 610 million units in October, DIGITIMES reported that shipments were reduced to 595 million units in 2022, mainly due to a reduction of 10 million units in the domestic and non-domestic markets compared with the previous forecast, and the global 5G mobile phone shipments forecast was revised down to 740 million units in 2023.
