CTOnews.com, January 4 (Xinhua)-- Volkswagen unveiled its next all-electric model, the ID.7, on CES 2023, but a version with camouflage coating, which will be in mass production this fall and go on sale in 2024.

The ID.7 is Volkswagen's sixth electric vehicle after the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, ID.6 (China only) and ID.Buzz. It is expected to rename the ID.AERO concept car, position it as high-end, build on the MEB (modular electric drive) platform, have a range of 700km under the WLTP standard, and will be sold in Europe, China and the United States.

CTOnews.com learned that the Volkswagen ID.7 has a wheelbase of 2969 mm and is expected to have much more internal space than the ID.4. The car is also equipped with a brand new 15-inch infotainment system, an AR HUD head-up display, digitally controlled vents and voice assistants such as "Hello Volkswagen, my hands are cold."

Volkswagen says ID.7 's temperature control system is smart enough to detect when drivers approach the car, cool it in hot weather or heat it in cold weather.

In addition, the picture shows that Volkswagen ID.7 still uses the brand's capacitor to control the multi-function steering wheel, which may change when it goes on sale.

Thomas Sch ä fer, chief executive of Volkswagen passenger cars, said: "with the new ID.7, we are expanding the range of electric models to the high end of the market. This car will provide first-class technology and quality. ID.7 is one of 10 new electric models we plan to launch by 2026, and our goal is to provide the right products for customers in each market segment."
