Shulou(Shulou.com)11/24 Report--
CTOnews.com, January 4, Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) announced today that the next generation of Qi wireless charging standard will integrate Apple MagSafe magnetic charging function. Qi2 is a new unified wireless charging standard, which is based on the MagSafe charging technology provided by Apple.
Qi2 will integrate Magnetic Power Profile, which means that in the future, wireless charging panels from manufacturers such as Samsung and OPPO will use Apple MagSafe technology. The technology is currently available in the iPhone 12 series and subsequent models.
WPC said that Qi2's introduction of Magnetic Power Profile will ensure that mobile phones and other battery-powered mobile products are perfectly docked with chargers to improve energy efficiency and speed up charging. Qi2 will allow the use of new accessories that existing flat-to-flat devices (flat surface-to-flat surface) cannot be recharged.
CTOnews.com learned that the Qi2 standard will be unveiled later this year and will replace the existing Qi standard. The first Qi2-enabled smartphones and chargers are expected to be launched during the 2023 Christmas shopping season.
