CTOnews.com, January 3, the last day of 2022, Zhejiang University official announced a major donation-Duan Yongping, an outstanding alumnus of Zhejiang University, signed a donation agreement with Zhejiang University Education Foundation to donate another 100 million yuan to his alma mater to support the construction of a new building of the School of Information and Electronic Engineering. This is Duan Yongping's second large donation to his alma mater in 2022, totaling 270 million yuan.

The new building, with a total floor area of about 15000 square meters, is planned to be a high-tech building integrating teaching, scientific research, transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and conference center. It will better support the Institute of Information and Telecommunications to carry out personnel training, scientific research, high-level personnel introduction and interdisciplinary research, and help the College to open up a new situation for development.

CTOnews.com learned that Duan Yongping, who was born in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province in 1961, was the first candidate to resume the college entrance examination and was successfully admitted to the Radio Department of Zhejiang University. After graduating in 1983, Duan Yongping gave up his "iron rice bowl" and went south to Guangdong and became famous with the war of "Little Overlord". At the age of 34, Duan Yongping ran away and founded Bubugao, then incubated OPPO and vivo. Later, in his prime, he chose to retire early to make an investment.
