CTOnews.com, January 3, Hunan Province recently released the country's first provincial highway charging infrastructure layout plan, which is expected to have a charging station every 50 kilometers by 2025.

According to the Hunan Provincial Highway charging Infrastructure layout Plan issued by the Hunan Provincial Transportation Department, by 2025, 99.5% of the roads in Hunan Province will have a charging station every 50 kilometers. In addition, the plan also defines the relevant facilities on rural roads-the coverage of charging facilities on rural roads will exceed 95%.

CTOnews.com learned that the planned coverage goals are:

The expressways that have been operated and operated before the end of 2025 are fully covered, including service areas and conditional parking areas, some connecting lines and living areas of toll stations

There are 20 ordinary national highways and 188 ordinary provincial highways in service, and the ordinary national and provincial highways planned and completed before the end of 2025 are all covered, including the existing national and provincial highways with implementation conditions and the important traffic nodes of the ordinary national and provincial highways planned and built before the end of 2025, the main travel destinations and highway transportation service places along the route.

Important traffic nodes and major travel destinations on rural highways are fully covered.

Towns and residential areas along ordinary national and provincial highways and rural highways are basically covered.

In 2035, the charging infrastructure of new highways, ordinary national and provincial highways and rural roads will be fully covered.

The target time for planning is:

By the end of December 2022, the charging infrastructure in the highway service area of the province will be fully covered.

By the end of December 2023, the charging infrastructure of important traffic nodes, main travel destinations and highway transportation service places along the province's ordinary national and provincial highways will be basically covered; optimize and encrypt highway service areas (parking areas) and charging infrastructure in living areas along connecting lines and toll stations

By the end of December 2025, the charging infrastructure network along expressways and ordinary national and provincial highways will be further optimized and encrypted; the charging infrastructure of important road traffic nodes and travel destinations, townships and residential areas along rural highways will be basically covered; the charging infrastructure network along the highway will be basically improved.

In 2035, existing expressways, ordinary national and provincial highways and rural highway charging stations will be further encrypted and expanded, and charging infrastructure will be gradually built for new expressways, ordinary national and provincial highways and rural highways.
