So far, three million kilowatt thermal power units have been put into production for the largest thermal power project under construction in China.

The project is located in the national energy and chemical base of Shanghai Miao Town, Etoke Qianqi, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, and plans to build four 1 million kilowatt ultra-supercritical indirect air-cooled thermal power units. using domestic leading large-capacity, high-parameter, ultra-supercritical and ultra-net coal-fired power generation technology, it is the largest thermal power project under construction in China, and it is also a key supporting project of ±1 million kV HVDC transmission project from Shanghai Miao to Linyi, Shandong Province. Power is sent to Shandong power grid through the "Inner Mongolia Shanghai Miao to Shandong Linyi Line" to meet the national strategic goal of "power transmission from west to east".

CTOnews.com learned that Unit 1 of the project was put into operation on December 27, 2021, and Unit 2 was put into operation on July 9, 2022.

The No. 3 unit put into operation has been deeply optimized on the basis of units 1 and 2. The thermal efficiency of the whole plant is higher, the heat consumption of the unit, the power consumption rate of the plant, the water consumption of coal for power generation and the back pressure of the unit are lower. Shanghai Miao Project has realized the successful application of national independent controllable intelligent distributed control system (iDCS) in domestic million kilowatt ultra-supercritical large-scale coal-fired intercooling units, and has the world's first all-steel structure million unit cooling tower, domestic leading modular coal transportation trestle, nine-stage regenerative steam extraction and other new technologies.

During the trial operation of Unit 3, a number of one-off successes such as boiler ignition, steam turbine turning and generator connection were achieved, the main trial operation indexes all reached excellent standards, and the unit load met the requirements of power grid dispatching. The input rates of electrical protection, thermal control protection and automatic instruments all reached 100%, and the input rates of desulphurization, denitrification and dust removal devices reached 100%. The measured emission concentrations of soot, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are 1.08 mg / standard cubic meter, 4.88 mg / standard cubic meter and 18.16 mg / standard cubic meter respectively, which is better than the national ultra-low emission standard. The unit is green, energy-saving, low-carbon and efficient.
