The higher the version of VxWorks, the newer the supported CPU and the more Board supported. But there are tens of thousands of devices in the world, and no matter how huge OS is, it is impossible to support all Board. The most important thing to develop a new BSP is to find a close one in the existing BSP as a starting point. If there is no BSP in the current version that uses the same CPU as the new Board, you will have to consider switching to a higher version of VxWorks
