It is reported that this year's "Scientific Exploration Award" application time is from January 1 to March 15,2023. Young scientists born after January 1, 1977 (inclusive), who have obtained doctoral degrees and work full-time in mainland China and Hong Kong and Macao (regardless of nationality) can apply through the official website of the award (https://xploreprize.org) according to relevant guidelines. After the application is completed, the jury will conduct independent evaluation, and the list of winners is planned to be announced in August 2023.

Starting in 2023, expert nominations for the Scientific Exploration Award are valid for three years each. The secretariat of the "Scientific Exploration Award" specially reminded that this year's application deadline is earlier than in previous years, and young scientists interested in applying must submit all materials on time. The award application system has been fully upgraded to make the experience more convenient and friendly. Young scientists who have applied for awards in previous years can log in through the same account and reuse or modify the submitted materials.

It should be noted that the "Scientific Exploration Award" and the "New Cornerstone Researcher Project" both belong to the scientific and technological talent funding projects initiated and funded by Tencent Company, and there is a mutual exclusion between the two when applying. In the same year, eligible applicants can only apply for the "Scientific Exploration Award" or the "New Cornerstone Researcher Project," and shall not apply for both projects at the same time; the "New Cornerstone Researcher Project" recipients shall not apply for the "Scientific Exploration Award."
