CTOnews.com, January 3 (Xinhua)-- the world's first real-life film shot in space (tentatively named Challenge) has released its first preview, scheduled for its premiere in Russia on April 12 this year, the anniversary of Gagarin's first flight.

The film stars 35-year-old Russian actress Yulia Peresild and is directed by Klim Klim Shipenko. The film tells the story of a sick astronaut who is unable to return to Earth for medical treatment, and a surgeon is urgently sent to space to operate on the astronaut.

CTOnews.com learned that the film crew arrived at the International Space Station aboard the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft on October 5, 2021 and made the first human film in space in 12 days. Russian astronauts in orbit also participated in the filming.

On October 17, 2021, the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft carrying the space film Challenge crew successfully returned to Earth and landed at the landing site in Kazakhstan.
