CTOnews.com, January 2 (Xinhua) Samsung's Odyssey high-end game display series is widely regarded as one of the best displays in the industry, and Samsung aims to take its next-generation display lineup to a new level at CES in 2023.

Today, Samsung announced that it will launch two new game monitors during the CES 2023 event as part of its Odyssey Neo G9 and Odyssey OLED G9. In addition, the company shared details about the new ViewFinity S9 and the latest smart display M8.

The Odyssey Neo G9's new Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is the world's first dual UHD resolution (7680 x 2160, "dual 4K") display with an aspect ratio of 32:9. The display has a huge 1000R curved 57-inch panel, uses quantum mini LED technology and is VESA Display HDR 1000 certified for excellent image reproduction even in the most challenging gaming environments.

The new Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 screen has a matte coating to reduce glare and also supports the peak refresh rate of 240Hz. And the Odyssey Neo G9 is the first display in the world to support DisplayPort 2.1.It can transmit data at about twice the speed of DisplayPort 1.4 and transmit information with lossless industry-standard display stream compression (DSC) without distortion.

With so many major upgrades, the new Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 will not be very cheap, and Samsung has yet to confirm pricing and launch details.

As the name implies, the Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is an upgraded version of the original G9 with a sharp OLED panel with deep black and almost unlimited color contrast. The display features an 1800R curved 49-inch panel with quad-HD resolution and an aspect ratio of 32:9, and uses quantum dot technology OLED for perfect pixel-level color contrast.

Samsung said that the OLED display on the Odyssey OLED G9 illuminates each pixel separately, does not rely on backlight, and can achieve a dynamic contrast of 1, 000 and 1, while providing real RGB and true black, without the need for a color filter. Despite the use of the OLED panel, the display has the response time of 0.1ms, can achieve smooth games, and the refresh rate is 240Hz.

In addition, the Odyssey OLED G9 provides access to various OTT platforms such as Prime Video, Netflix and YouTube through smart hubs, and Samsung's Gaming Hub is equipped to enable players to access cloud gaming platforms such as Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now. Like the new Odyssey Neo G9, Samsung has not shared the full details of the Odyssey OLED G9.

ViewFinity S9 Samsung's display lineup on CES in 2023 is not all about games. The company has also prepared a new product for creators, the new ViewFinity S9, a 27-inch 5K display that covers 99% of the DCI-P3 gamut and averages Delta E ≦ 2 for accurate color reproduction.

The ViewFinity S9 also comes with a built-in color calibration engine to ensure accurate screen color and brightness, allowing professionals to use the Samsung Smart Calibration application to adjust the white balance, gamma and RGB color balance through smartphones for perfect accuracy.

The monitor also has USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 ports to help professionals connect cameras and other devices to the monitor to quickly transfer high-resolution video or other files to their PC. It also has a 4K SlimFit camera and supports local video conferencing through Google Meet and other applications included in Samsung Smart Hub.

CTOnews.com learned that in addition to these three displays, Samsung will launch a new 27-inch version of the smart display M8 on the 2023 CES, which comes with an upgraded 2K SlimFit camera, which is not available on the 32-inch model.
