CTOnews.com January 2 news, Loup Ventures's Tesla analyst believes that Tesla Model 2 will be unveiled in 2024.

"Tesla will not release Model 2 until 2024," Loup Ventures said in his 2022 forecast letter.

"if the company releases lower-priced cars too early, it could slow sales of the Model 3," Loup Ventures explained. "at the same time, it will be difficult to meet the production capacity of new cars."

The venture capital firm expects Tesla to provide a preview of Model 2 in early 2024 and to expand production of the new electric vehicle by mid-2025.

CTOnews.com has learned that Elon Musk has set some goals for the new model, which Tesla is likely to focus on during the development of Model 2. First, the Model 2 has a price target of $25000 (about 173000 yuan), which will make it the most affordable model for Tesla when it goes on sale. Second, the Model 2 will be a compact or subcompact car, which is popular in Europe and Asia. It is worth mentioning that it was reported that Tesla China was developing Model 2.

The name of Tesla's $25000 compact / ultra-compact model has not been officially announced. The names Model 2 and Model Q have been used to refer to the upcoming model, but Tesla has not officially confirmed the name. Elon Musk made a virtual appearance at the 2022 B20 summit in Indonesia and was asked whether Tesla would name the upcoming entry-level electric car Model I. Instead of confirming or denying the name, Mr Musk says a more affordable model makes sense.
