CTOnews.com, January 2 (Xinhua) it is not uncommon for companies to offer year-end bonuses to employees as a token of gratitude, which may be based on different factors, such as employee performance and company profits.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung rewards its executives and employees within 20% of the company's excess profits in January, a day after Samsung reportedly informed its executives and employees of a detailed annual incentive plan known as the overall performance incentive (OPI). Among them, employees in the chip department will receive the most year-end bonuses, up to 50% of their annual salary.

Employees in the device solutions division in charge of Samsung's chip business will receive a year-end bonus equivalent to 47-50 per cent of their annual salary, similar to OPI of about 50 per cent the previous year, according to reports from Theinvestor.

Year-end bonuses for Samsung display employees will jump sharply compared with last year, as they will also receive 47-50% of their annual salary. Employees in the mobile department will also receive bonuses ranging from 29% to 33% of their annual salary. People in the network solutions department will receive bonuses that account for 22-26% of their total salary. Finally, employees in the visual display and consumer electronics departments will receive relatively low bonuses of 18-22% and 5-7%, respectively.
