CTOnews.com, January 2, according to the British Auto Express report, Land Rover is developing an all-electric guard car (Rover Defender) that will be launched in 2025. The electric guard has a range of about 300 miles and is expected to be launched in conjunction with existing internal combustion engine models. The electric version of the Land Rover Guardian will be launched in addition to the Standard Guardian 110, as well as two-door 90 and long wheelbase 130 models.

The Land Rover Guardian's pure electric version is expected to use Land Rover's new MLA platform, which integrates internal combustion engines and all-electric power systems. The MLA platform already supports the new range Rover and range Rover sports versions, both of which will be unveiled by the end of 2024.

CTOnews.com learned that in terms of batteries, Land Rover electric cars will be equipped with 100kWh battery packs.

Apart from differences in powertrain and some minor appearance changes, the Land Rover Guardian electric car will be very similar to the version of the internal combustion engine that has been on sale since 2020. However, the upgrade of the infotainment system may be accompanied by an increase in the use of sustainable materials in carriages.

In terms of pricing, Land Rover Guards currently start at $55100 (about 381000 yuan) in the United States. The price of the electric car version is expected to be higher, ranging from $75000 (about 519000 yuan) to $80,000 (about 554000 yuan). In addition, there may be a high-end version worth more than $100000 (about 692000 yuan) to compete with the Mercedes-Benz EQG.
