CTOnews.com, January 2, according to Theil Terminal Laboratory, the mandatory national standard GB21288-2022, electromagnetic radiation exposure limit for mobile communication terminals, jointly compiled by China Institute of Information and Communications and China Institute of Metrology, has been officially released recently. The standard will be formally implemented on January 1, 2024. The release and implementation of the standard will better protect the health of the people and further promote the healthy development of the communications industry.

CTOnews.com learned that the "electromagnetic radiation exposure limit for mobile communication terminals" is a revised version of GB21288-2007. In order to reflect the latest scientific research achievements in the field of bio-electromagnetism and meet the needs of new technologies in the communication industry, the whole revision took four years. Compared with the 2007 version, the major changes in the revised version include:

The standard name was changed from "Local exposure limit of electromagnetic radiation of Mobile phone" to "exposure limit of electromagnetic radiation of Mobile Communication Terminal".

The scope of application has been changed to expand from mobile phones used near the head to mobile communication terminal devices working within 100kHz ~ 300GHz and close to human 20cm when in use, such as mobile phones, cordless group phones, satellite mobile terminals, wearable devices, portable mobile terminals, etc.

Added definition of occupational exposure

The definition of absorbed power density is added.

Increased the exposure limits for different frequencies and different parts of the body.

The content marked in the product specification has been modified, and the notes on the requirements of the product specification have been added.
