CTOnews.com learned that Xu Zhijun said that both home users and business users, after years of continuous innovation, are showing new characteristics of broadband consumer demand, thus creating new development opportunities. The upgrade of broadband consumption is just around the corner.

According to reports, in terms of home broadband, digital home business is booming, and home positioning is changing from an entertainment center dominated by high-definition video to a diversified center with immersive XR experience, online office and whole-house intelligence, promoting family housing to develop in a green, digital and intelligent direction. The consumption upgrading of home broadband services puts forward higher requirements for the entire broadband network in various experience dimensions, such as home coverage, speed, delay, number of concurrent connections and so on.

First, fiber-to-home (FTTH) bandwidth has been upgraded from gigabit to 10 gigabit. Currently, operators are working to upgrade the broadband network to 10G PON so that more users can enjoy the gigabit ultra-wide experience. By the end of November, the number of gigabit users in China has exceeded 87 million, accounting for 16% of the total broadband users. At the same time, 50G PON will be commercially available in 2023, so as to better promote the innovative development of home digital services and upgrade broadband networks from gigabit to 10 gigabit.

FTTR not only enhances the user's family experience, but also opens up a new business growth point for operators, helping operators to move from bandwidth management to a new era of experience management. According to the current plan, FTTR penetration is expected to reach 8% in 2025 and 31% in 2030. We should consider taking a bigger step and strive to bring this new experience to every family in need as soon as possible.

Once again, fully upgrade to Wi-Fi 6. From the user's point of view, the broadband experience is the Wi-Fi 6 experience, and Wi-Fi 6 is the key to the ubiquity of the gigabit experience. New applications require higher throughput and delay, and the popularity of new applications will gradually accelerate. Enabling every user to access through Wi-Fi 6 anywhere in the home is a basic requirement of the broadband experience.
