CTOnews.com, January 1 (Xinhua)-- Hardware Sugar, a retailer in the Philippines, has shared the failure rate of its most popular hardware brand in four years. Although this is a small sample size, it still has some reference value.

CTOnews.com learned that of all hardware components, graphics cards have the highest failure rate, especially gigabyte graphics cards. The retailer's RMA data show that gigabyte-branded graphics cards have a failure rate of 5 per cent. MSI's graphics cards seem to be more reliable, with only 1.5% of sales units malfunctioning. However, Hardware Sugar sold 9.3% more gigabyte graphics cards than MSI cards. Unfortunately, the retailer did not specify which graphics card models are more prone to failure.

When it comes to motherboards, the opposite is true. The failure rate of MSI motherboard (2.4%) is higher than that of gigabyte motherboard (1.8%).

The message also shows that Haiyun Power is very popular in the Philippines, beating big brands such as Pirate ships and Crusoe Supreme. Hardware Sugar sells 42.8 per cent more sea charm products than pirate ships. However, the pirate ship is generally a more reliable brand, with a failure rate of less than 1%, with a failure rate of 1.8% and 2%, respectively.

On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with the cooling solution of the pirate ship and Kyushu Fengshen. However, the largest-selling NZXT cooling product has a failure rate of 4 per cent.

With regard to memory, Zhiqi is the preferred brand for DIY users and consumers in the Philippines. Hardware Sugar sells 235.8% more Zhiqi memory kits than Ten Ambrose Technology memory kits. Zhiqi's failure rate is also lower, at 0.66%.

Samsung and Shiquan Technology are the most popular brands of high-speed NVMe storage, with similar sales figures, but Samsung is more reliable, with a RMA of zero. By contrast, Ten Quan Technology's products have a failure rate of 1.2%.
