CTOnews.com, December 30 (Xinhua) according to the release of China Railway, train T8010 pulled out of Quanzhou Station at 08:15 on December 30, marking the official opening and operation of the Xingquan Railway and the formation of a high-capacity high-speed railway link between Fujian Province and the central provinces.

Xingquan Railway starts from Xingguo Station of Beijing-Kowloon Railway, through Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, Sanming City, Fujian Province, Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, and finally to Quanzhou Station of Fuzhou-Xiamen Railway. With a total length of 464 kilometers and a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour, it is a national first-class single-track electrified railway. The construction of Xingquan Railway is divided into two sections, of which the section from Xingguo to Qingliu is 174 kilometers long and was opened for operation on September 30, 2021. The section from Qingliu to Quanzhou is 290 kilometers long, with a total of 20 stations, including three stations in Yong'annan, Datianbei and Quanzhou, and two stations in Xiaohu and Huangtang. Qingliu, Mingxi, Sanyuanxi West, Dehua, Yongchun, Anxi East and Nan'an North 7 stations handle passenger and freight business, and other stations are railway technical operation stations.

CTOnews.com learned that at the initial stage of operation, the railway department will arrange for the operation of three pairs of passenger trains and seven pairs of freight trains from Nanchang, Ganzhou to Quanzhou, and the train operation plan will be continuously optimized according to the operation situation and market demand.

The whole line of Xingquan Railway has put an end to the history of blocked railways in eight old revolutionary base counties, namely, Ningdu, Shicheng, Ninghua, Qingliu, Mingxi, Datian, Dehua and Yongchun, and realized the railway dream of the people in the old areas.
